History

In July 1978 Texco was established as a batch distributor for the Twente Textile Industry. This branch of industry needed a company to sell its stock, preferably in faraway countries, thus ensuring exclusivity.

After a few years the demand for these products had become so great that, in addition to the major industries in Twente, companies all over Europe asked Texco to distribute their products. In the Eastern European countries especially, an enormous number of companies sold their products through Texco. At a certain stage these supply lines made up 80% of Texco's total turnover. As a result the number of suppliers and customers of Texco has increased strongly over the years. When the wall came down between East and Western Europe these companies found other ways to distribute their products and this fact forced Texco to set out a new course.
